Liverpool’s newest boutique gears up for launch

Liverpool’s newest boutique hotel is gearing up to officially open its doors in August.

The Shankly Hotel on Victoria Street in Liverpool is the second hotel from Signature Living, after the success of St James Street, home of Titanic, and will welcome guests this month.

Named after Liverpool FC legend Bill Shankly, the new hotel has been constructed at the former Liverpool council offices in Millennium House, after work began in February.

The Shankly Hotel now consists of 61 bedrooms and 22 serviced apartments, along with a restaurant and bar. Plans have also been revealed for a rooftop bar and restaurant, plus rooftop pool to be unveiled in 2016.

Each bedroom will be home to a smart TV, Xbox One, Bluetooth music system and double Jacuzzi bath.

The whole development is thought to be worth £15m and Signature Living will have the property open in time for the 2015/2016 football season.

Signature Living said at the announcement of the work’s start date: The Shankly Hotel will offer more than just accommodation; it is set to become a major tourist attraction in Liverpool, which will ultimately promote the city as an amazing destination in the UK.”
