Top London boutiques shake up European Hotel Design Awards

The finalists of the European Hotel Design Awards have been announced with five top London boutique hotels taking the spotlight in some of the key categories.

The prestigious awards, now in their 18th year, focus on excellence in hotel architecture and design and this year sees The Mondrian, The Beaumont, Rosewood, Dorsett Shepherd’s Bush and The Hospital Club named as finalists in one or more of the ten categories.

The winners will be announced on November 23 at the awards ceremony at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, and always brings together some of the industry’s top influencers and big names.

The Mondrian leads the way with four nominations, including categories such as Architecture Adaptive Re-use, where Dorsett Shepherd’s Bush is also named, and Interior Design Bar, while The Beaumont, which opened last year from restaurateurs Corbin and King, received three nods including Interior Design Bedrooms & Bathrooms.

Both made the list of finalists in the Interior Design Restaurant category.

The Interior Design Suite category boasted the most London-based hotels, with the Garden House Suite at Rosewood, Shangri-La Suite at The Shard and The Hospital Club all making the final cut.
