The Savoy’s bar scoops title of best in the world.

The Savoy’s Beaufort Bar has been named at Best International Hotel Bar at the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards 2015.

The luxury five-star establishment, which reopened in 2010 following a £220m upgrade, had two of its bars nominated in three categories at the industry awards, but it was the Beaufort Bar which came out victorious on the night. The Beaufort Bar is run by head bartender Chris Moore who, together with his creative team, took home the coveted title at the awards ceremony held in New Orleans this week.

The Beaufort Bar beat off stiff competition in the category to scoop the top prize, including its own sister American Bar at The Savoy.  Also named as finalists in the Best International Hotel Bar category was The Punch Room at London EDITION and The Zetter Townhouse, making it a completely London final.

The Savoy also fared well in other categories with its American Bar making it into the top four in the World’s Best Cocktail Menu and Best International Bar Team categories. As winners of the Best International Hotel Bar title, the Beaufort Bar team collected a Riedel crystal trophy on the night. The Spirited Awards have been running since 2007 and recognise the year’s best bars, bartenders, writers and experts in the drinks industry.
