Budweiser Brewing Group announces commercial recruitment drive to provide opportunities and support the post-pandemic recovery in the beer sector

  • Budweiser Brewing Group is currently recruiting for more than 25 roles, including six apprentices
  • Announcement follows brewers’ £115m investment in its UK sites

Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I, a proud part of AB InBev, announces it is currently recruiting for 25 roles in the UK throughout its commercial teams, plus six apprentices. This comes at a time when the UK hospitality industry is showing signs of recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beer is a powerful engine of economic growth; in a post-COVID world, it can be a critical driver of the recovery. In the UK, there are nearly 900,000 brewing and pub jobs[1], and the value of these jobs to the economy is £22.9 billion[2]. As a leading brewer, brewing much-loved brands including Budweiser, Stella Artois, Corona and Bud Light, Budweiser Brewing Group is recruiting passionate individuals to join its business and drive this momentum forward.

The available positions sit within the commercial sales and trade marketing teams, and roles range from Key Account Managers, who own and drive commercial results of customer accounts, to Tech Sales Managers, who support the sales teams with data and analytics to guide commercial decisions. Other roles include Trade Marketing Executives within the team responsible for supporting our pub and retail partners with exciting campaigns, partnerships and trends, as well as various regional field sales positions around the UK. These roles are part of the front line of the company, meeting the people who run bars, restaurants and the latest pop-ups, as well as supermarkets and convenience stores to support them with maximising their businesses. Training in sales and negotiation is provided to all team members, along with beer training to learn all about the brewing process, flavour profiles and how the supply chain works.

Budweiser Brewing Group is also continuing to invest in its long-term apprenticeship programme, and it is expanding its apprenticeship offer with six Drinks Technician vacancies based in areas around the UK that have been showing increasing levels of trade. These positions are within the Drinks Dispense team, Budweiser Brewing Group’s team of professionals who personally deliver the tools and training for the perfect pour, attending 70,000 service calls throughout the year. Each apprentice will take part in a 12-18-month course to achieve their Level 3 Drinks Dispense qualification, mentored by a colleague who has completed a professional coaching programme. Upon qualifying, apprentices will graduate into a technical role before exploring other opportunities within the business.

Paula Lindenberg, President, Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I, says: “Following an incredibly challenging year, we are excited to be launching this recruitment drive and expanding our team in the UK even further. At Budweiser Brewing Group, people are our greatest strength. We want to bring ambitious people on board who have the drive to join us and contribute to our growth journey. I am also proud that we are opening up more diverse routes in the workplace with the expansion of our apprenticeship program. We are committed to building a diverse talent pipeline, and this is one example of that. We can’t wait to meet our applicants!”

James Rowe, Director of Sales Operations at Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I says: “Having started as an apprentice more than 20 years ago with our Drinks Dispense team, being able to re-launch our programme this year is very special to me. I’m passionate about finding talented and diverse people who can grow within our business, achieve great results and become the next generation of leaders. With this announcement today we continue to demonstrate that our people really are our greatest strength.”

This recruitment drive comes following a £115million+ investment in the company’s two major UK breweries in South Wales and Lancashire, which will enable Budweiser Brewing Group to increase capacity and efficiency, brewing 630 million more pints a year.
