At the beginning of summer, InterContinental London – The O2 released the ‘Then and Now’ afternoon tea, an eclectic experience that pays homage to the origins of afternoon tea, whilst providing a taste of the evolution that has shaped this staple of British culture.
This elegant and luxurious afternoon tea boasts a variety of traditional yet modern recipes, as well as a range of specially crafted cocktails created in collaboration with Chase Distillery.
The menu offers a wide selection of afternoon tea classics; scones accompanied with strawberry and champagne preserve and traditional Cornish clotted cream; a wide selection of sandwiches that range from crayfish marie rose to honey roast ham with grain mustard, or goat’s cheese and leek tart with red onion chutney. The experience is completed with a satisfying sweet topping of lemon meringue choux, pistachio and raspberry roly-poly and caramelia chocolate delice.
In addition to menu, an extensive list of recommended teas is available, all of which have been personally chosen from InterContinental’s Tea Sommelier. Extend the afternoons enjoyment further with a selection of curated cocktails – including Queen Victoria’s tipple and Bee’s Knees. Alternatively, a flute from our collection of Laurent Perrier champagnes is also available.
