The Savoy Awarded Five-Star Rating by Forbes Travel Guide 2018

LONDON Forbes Travel Guide today unveiled its annual Star Rating list, once again naming The Savoy as a Five-Star hotel. The Savoy will be showcased with all of the Star rating recipients on ForbesTravelGuide.com. This marks the sixth hotel ratings in Europe for Forbes Travel Guide, which has anonymously inspected and rated hotels, restaurants and spas since the company’s founding in 1958 as Mobil Travel Guide. The Savoy first received this prestigious recognition when the ratings list launched in 2013 and has retained the Five-Star rating year on year since then.

Upon receiving the award, Philip M. Barnes, Managing Director of The Savoy, commented, “We are honoured to have received this accolade for the sixth year running. It is a testament to the exceptional level of service that the Savoy team consistently delivers to our guests. I am proud of our colleagues and know that this recognition will only serve to encourage and motivate them to continue to strive for excellence”.

The Savoy, a Fairmont Managed Hotel, is the only luxury hotel on the River Thames, perfectly located on the Northbank and within steps of vibrant Covent Garden. 267 rooms and suites, many of which afford spectacular river views, accompany some of the capital’s most well known restaurants, including Simpson’s in the Strand, Gordon Ramsay’s Savoy Grill and Kaspar’s at The Savoy, along with the American Bar, voted World’s Best Bar 2017, the Beaufort Bar and the Thames Foyer, where guests can enjoy live entertainment every evening. Varied events spaces provide the backdrop to glamorous social occasions and prominent corporate functions.

“We are pleased to honor the 2018 Star Rating recipients, an exceptional collection of hotels, restaurants and spas that demonstrates a strong culture of service,” said Gerard J. Inzerillo, Chief Executive Officer of Forbes Travel Guide.

“In an online environment of confusion and clutter, Forbes Travel Guide is the most trusted source of information to assist guests in making informed decisions,” Inzerillo said. “These properties, the largest and most global group in the company’s history, achieve an impeccable standard of excellence in hospitality, underscoring our overall mission of positively contributing to the international tourism industry as well as individual hotel experience. We are proud to congratulate everyone associated with the prestigious properties recognized today.”
