Magnolia Park Hotel working towards Best Western Plus status with Beacon’s Design Service

In July this year, prestigious Golf and Country Club, Magnolia Park, enlisted the help of Beacon’s Design Services to manage the design and purchasing for its new 30-bedroom Best Western Plus hotel on its existing site in Buckinghamshire. By taking advantage of Beacon’s offering of a bespoke sample room, Magnolia Park has been able to see exactly how each room will look before rolling out the design across the site, to ensure it meets the strict standards of the Best Western Plus brand.

    • Magnolia Park worked with Beacon’s Design Service team, to develop two distinct designs for Best Western Plus’ consideration
    • Introduced in 2011, the Best Western Plus brand is a more premium service from Best Western and boasts a high quality design; so all rooms need to come with an increased quality specification
    • To achieve this status, hotels must undergo rigorous checks and assessments by the Best Western Quality Assurance team Creating the sample room allowed the Quality Assurance team from Best Western to carry out their assessments before it was rolled out across the site
    • The design for the hotel is completely future-proofed, as it has been designed to comply with the minimum standards for aesthetics that Best Western will be introducing from January 2015
    • The new hotel is scheduled to officially open on 19th January 2015 and will be operated by Branded Hotel Management (BHM)

Matthew Ward, Quality Assurance Manager, Best Western Great Britain, said:

The sample room set the benchmark for standards which enabled the project team to press ahead with confidence, avoiding unnecessary costs and delays. The project has been a great example of how working together with the Beacon Design Team, Magnolia Park has been able to create cost effective, customisable design solutions that are guaranteed to meet our QA requirements prior to joining the brand.

Chris Johnson, Design Services Manager at Beacon, commented:

We worked really closely with our suppliers on this project to make sure that everyone understood the high standards that were expected of the Best Western Plus brand. It was all about adding little touches and really fine-tuning the design to make sure that everything was the best that it could be. For example, the piping on the headboards was hand-stitched to match the colour scheme in each room, and it’s details like this that really made the difference. The sample room was a great way for us to show Magnolia Park and Best Western exactly what they can expect from each and every room.
