Hospitality charity seeks new trustees

HIT Scotland, the charity that provides inspirational learning experiences for those working in the Scottish hospitality industry, is inviting applications to join its board of trustees.

The organisation, founded in 1994 by leaders in the hospitality and culinary sectors, is searching for a number of knowledgeable trustees to inform its future development, following the retirement of several current trustees.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, HIT Scotland aims to “empower inspirational development for those studying and working within Scottish hospitality.”

Speaking of the voluntary positions, Angela Vickers, Chair of the board of trustees at HIT Scotland, said: “It’s an exciting time of evolution at our organisation and we’re very much looking forward to welcoming new members onto our board of trustees. We’re searching for dynamic individuals who are passionate about making a difference within the hospitality industry.

“The ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate that they can help us uphold our values across all of our operations, as well as helping us to achieve our strategic vision going forward.”

As part of the role, trustees will be required to commit their own time to attending quarterly meetings. Each appointment lasts an initial three years, with the possibility of renewal up to a maximum of seven years.

Interested applicants are advised to contact [email protected] with a short note about why they would like to be considered for the role. Successful applications will be invited to attend panel interviews which will be held in November 2019.
