Guy Bartlett, Electric Vehicle (EV) charge point operator (CPO) Believ CEO, says:

“The Government’s £650 million fund, offering up to £3,750 off a new EV that costs less than £37,000, is a positive step forward in making it easier for drivers to make the transition, and realise the benefits that EVs can deliver, to the environment, and in their pockets.

“There are more than 90 EV models now available that cost less than £37,000 – so this will make a real difference to drivers looking to make buying an EV more affordable.

“Increasing uptake, however, is only one part of the equation. If we increase the number of vehicles, we have to increase the charging infrastructure network. Believ is committed to getting charge points in the ground where they are needed most, and are the most convenient for drivers – ahead of demand. Our recent £300 million investment is designed to fund at least 30,000 new charge points, helping the UK achieve the Government’s ambition to have 300,000 public EV charge points available by 2030.

“Confidence in EVs will continue to grow as drivers see more infrastructure going into the ground.”
