  • A must-visit, Earls signature serve sees its gourmet sandwiches crafted to satisfy every taste and texture sensation

9 September 2021: The hottest new sandwich shop in town has landed in Stockbridge – and it’s taking the humble ‘piece’ to a whole new level.

Set in the heart of Edinburgh’s food scene, Earls Sandwich Co. is already hitting the spot with locals offering hearty, top notch sarnies with chilled beats and cold beers.

From boujee ingredients like sweet carrot kraut, peanut jalapeno emulsion and beer-braised shallot jam to must cop flavour combinations like pecorino and truffle remoulade with McCoys Cheese & Onion crisps – Earls is the most extra sandwich shop to open in Scotland’s capital.

With no boring veggie options in sight, the “Unusually Bubble” is a match made in heaven pairing of cheddar and gruyere bubble and squeak, fried egg and Marmite mayo topped with a retro crisp classic, Chipsticks.

Not forgetting the most important meal of the day, brunch die-hards can indulge in “The Mclovin’ It” filled with a black pudding banger – made by Thom Parsons, head chef at The Pantry – fried egg, hash brown and Mexican jalapeño cheese topped with thousand island mayo and encased in a challah bun.

Championing local suppliers, Leith-based brewery Moonwake Beer will take centre stage in Earls’ beer line up alongside homemade ice tea and cold brew coffee from Minor Figures.

A new venture for owners Chris and Charlotte Thompson, Earls’ menu will also feature a range of tempting snacks and sides including fries topped with madras sauce or umami mayo.

Kieran McGuckian, Manager of Earls, said of the opening: “We set out to create a neighbourhood eatery that’s all about excellent food in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Earls is a place where our customers can listen to great music, enjoy delicious drinks and get stuck into a class sandwich with their pals. We don’t suggest coming here on a first date – it’s going to get messy.”

Located at 74 Raeburn Place, Edinburgh, Earls is now open every day – except Tuesday – from 11.00am – 8.00pm, 11.00am – 5.00pm on Sundays, for both sit in and take away.
