Guess who’s back? Hallou, it’s mi! @BurgerKingUK

Burger King brings back fan-favourite Halloumi King and launches brand-new Halloumi Bacon King Burger

Halloumi lovers across the UK rejoice as Burger King announces the expansion of its currently reduced menu to bring back fan-favourite, The Halloumi King Burger, and a brand-new Halloumi Bacon King Burger to re-opened restaurants across the UK, just in time for summer. The new items will be on the menu from today. With the UK crowned as the biggest importer of halloumi, chowing down on over 2,000 tonnes of the Cypriot delicacy per year, it’s no surprise the demand for Burger King to bring back halloumi during lockdown has reached fever pitch.

The Halloumi King Burger is made up of two fried Halloumi patties, served in a brioche bun with crisp lettuce, onion and mayo with a fresh slice of ripe tomato.  Whilst the Halloumi Bacon King Burger sees crispy bacon between two fried Halloumi patties, served in a brioche bun with lettuce, mayo and a fresh slice of tomato.

Both burgers can be bought on their own, or as part of a meal alongside Burger King’s signature golden french fries and your favourite drink.

Burger King has also announced its Bacon King Burger will make its return to Burger King menus from today, which sees two savoury flame-grilled 100% British and Irish beef burgers, topped with a generous portion of thick-cut smoked bacon, melted American cheese and topped with ketchup and creamy mayonnaise, all on a soft sesame seed bun.

Katie Evans, Marketing Director at Burger King UK said: “We are so pleased to be able to start expanding our menu again as we continue to ease out of lockdown with our phased re-opening plan. You asked, we listened and now we can finally bring a dose of much-needed joy with the return of our very popular Halloumi King Burger and brand-new Halloumi King Burger, just in time for summer”

As Burger King continues its phased re-opening plan – which will see the fast food chain reach the re-open milestone of 350 locations for delivery and drive thru by the end of June – a number of safety measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of customers, staff and partners.
