AWARD SUCCESS FOR BUZZWORKS AND ITS NEW BAR IN AYR

An Ayrshire bar and music venue, the T-Bar, has scooped the coveted Kopparberg Best New Bar of the Year award at The Scottish Bar and Pub Awards 2018.

The Sandgate venue opened in May this year as the latest addition to Buzzworks prestigious portfolio.

Billed as a casual pub with a modern twist, the T-Bar offers an impressive range of beers, carefully crafted cocktails and made fresh to order stone-baked pizzas alongside the full Tree House menu seven days a week.

Great customer service and an excellent range of products behind the bar was essential criteria for this award, but it was T-Bars creative forward-thinking approach to business development that clinched the win.

Since its launch, T-Bar has hosted an unrivalled schedule of weekly entertainment from live music performances to screenings of live sport events. It’s T-bar Sessions aim to support the local music scene in Ayrshire showcasing a diverse and eclectic line-up at its weekly jam nights.

T-Bar has also welcomed some well-known names in the indie music scene including Mark Morriss from The Bluetones.

The Scottish hospitality group also picked up a second award on the night at the glittering awards ceremony held at The Hilton, with the group collecting the Diageo Award for Social Responsibility and Community.

The award recognises businesses that go the extra mile to promote both responsible drinking whilst engaging with their local communities, and the dynamic family run business, whose ethos is built around community engagement and family values, captured the judges imagination.

As part of its Giving Back charity initiative, Buzzworks also donated more than £50,000 to its three nominated charities Ayrshire Hospice, Cancer Research and Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity in the past two years.

Alison Blair, Buzzworks Holdings Director, said: “It was an honour to collect two awards on behalf of Buzzworks. Winning these awards is testament to not only the offering and service we provide for customers and employees across the portfolio, but our commitment to the communities we work in – providing exciting career opportunities and supporting local causes. A big thank you and congratulations to all involved.”

The Scottish Bar and Pub Awards took place on Tuesday 21 August 2018 at The Hilton Glasgow.
