Top Ambleside B&B, ‘Nanny Brow’ wins ‘Family Business of the Year’ at the E3 Business Awards

Lake district-based luxury B&B, Nanny Brow has been named ‘Family Business of the Year’ at the 2017 ‘E3 Business Awards’.  The event, held on 13th July at the Macron Stadium in Bolton, welcomed more than 500 guests from across the North West for the glittering awards ceremony which celebrated the very best North-West businesses.

Five-star Nanny Brow, widely regarded as one of the region’s finest historical properties, was one of hundreds of entrants and faced strong competition from nominees across the region.  They were also the only hospitality business that was shortlisted, competing against Hyway Logistics, Future Energy Solutions NW Ltd and Logs direct in their category, all very different family businesses.  The award was presented by Robin Gregson, Marketing & PR manager of 1 Events Media, on behalf of the sponsor ‘Business over Breakfast’ (North West).

It’s been an incredible year so far for Nanny Brow, which was named ‘Best Guest Accommodation in England’ by AA in May; last year saw the celebration of its five-year anniversary and one of its busiest seasons ever.

Receiving the award, Nanny Brow’s Sue Robinson said:

“We are beyond delighted to have been awarded ‘Family Business of the Year’ at the E3 Business Awards.  We know how competitive these are and with so many worthy entrants, it’s a dream come true to have taken the top spot!  Family values, first-class customer service and a warm welcome are at the very heart of everything we do at Nanny Brow and it really is a team effort.  We work extremely hard to combine all of these qualities, so are thrilled that our efforts have been recognised on a wider stage.”
Speaking on behalf of 1 Events Media, host and organiser of the awards, Managing Director Mubarak Chati said: “2017 broke all records in terms of the number of award nominations we received, so to come away with a win is an achievement of which Nanny Brow can be very proud.”

“Each year, the E3 Business Awards give us a new insight into the many talented and hard-working businesses that are thriving in the North West.  Despite uncertain economic conditions, companies, social enterprises and individual entrepreneurs remain undaunted; they continue to grow, to create jobs and to improve people’s lives.  Nanny Brow is an outstanding example of that enterprising spirit and the E3 Awards are all about providing the recognition that such organisations deserve.”
