LOCAL CHEFS ‘GO PINK’ TO FIGHT CANCER

The Captains Club Hotel in Christchurch has officially become the first hotel in the UK to show their support for Breast Cancer Arabia™ by signing up to ‘The Pink Brigade’ initiative which takes place during Dubai Goes Pink™ 2014.

Throughout the month of October, the brigade of local chefs, headed up by Head Chef Andrew Gault, who worked for many years at the 7 star Burj al Arab, will be wearing their pink themed, and personalised, Julius chef jackets to show their support for breast cancer awareness and raise funds which will help women access life-saving treatment through the Breast Cancer Arabia™ Foundation.

Andrew Gault, Head Chef at the Captains Club Hotel explains why his team are supporting this incredible cause.

“The idea was conceptualized by my brother-in-law, Robert Stokes, who is a chef in Dubai. He wanted to help raise awareness for cancer research Dubai in his culinary circle as he is helping his wife fight a very personal battle against stage 4 breast cancer. The idea is for as many chefs as possible to “Go Pink” for October by wearing specially embroidered jacket by Bragard sporting the breast cancer research logo”

“Robbie and I decided that we should get on board and fly the flag over here in the UK in the hope of getting the idea rolled out for 2015.. Hopefully next year, more hotels, restaurants and small food led operations may take the initiative on board, especially in such a male dominated environment that is a bit blasé to such conditions that affect not only the people suffering with the disease but also the families”
