The Clink Charity launches The Clink Café Manchester

The Clink Charity has announced that it is launching a new café in the heart of Manchester, The Clink Café. Customers will be able to choose from an exciting range of food and drinks that will have them visiting time and time again. Set in the Grade II listed Canada House owned by LJ Real Estate, on Chepstow Street, The Clink Café will offer local businesses and shoppers the ideal place to stop for lunch or coffee. The stunning, refurbished warehouse beautifully blends modernity with the traditional surroundings of the historic building.

Following the success of the four Clink Restaurants, the new café will continue the great work the charity does in the rehabilitation of offenders and will focus on training Clink Graduates and homeless clients of the Centrepoint Charity to gain their accredited City and Guilds NVQ level 2 in Food and Beverage Service as well as Barista skills.

Opening in mid-April, the team will be serving a range of food and drink using fresh, high quality, seasonal ingredients. With a strong brand identity, the café will replicate the core values of The Clink Charity at its heart.

Chris Moore, chief executive of The Clink Charity, said: “We are delighted to be opening The Clink Café and to be partnering with a landlord like LJ Real Estate, which shares our values. Our Clink restaurants have proved incredibly successful and the café will give us the opportunity to continue the training and provide our graduates with the chance to achieve their full potential. Working with Centrepoint, as we do with Clink Events, allows us to expand the great work both charities do to help those who need a second chance.”

Sam Lawson Johnston of LJ Real Estate said: “We are very excited to welcome The Clink Café to our building.  They do exceptional work in giving people the opportunity to thrive and they will be a valuable addition to the community of businesses in Canada House and the local community.
