A survey conducted at the recent Westonbirt House Wedding Show by Natalie Skinner, the owner of the beautifully converted and unique mobile teardrop caravan bar, Elsie Road, revealed that despite the nation appearing to have gone wild for new mixes, over half of those surveyed preferred a traditional cocktail mix.
The results of the survey were surprising. They show that when it comes to cocktails, most guests are ignoring the craze for new flavours by sticking to the traditional cocktails we all know and love.
“But that doesn’t mean that guests are not happy to take full advantage of the skills of our resident molecular mixologists who constantly create new signature cocktails, by adding their own individual slant to an old favourite,” Natalie added.
Natalie is giving everyone the opportunity to make and enjoy their take on a classic cocktail – the Elsie Road Pink Grapefruit Margarita – by providing details of the recipe and method:
- 50ml Tequila
- 25ml Cointreau
- Lime
- Grapefruit Syrup
- Grenadine
- Pink Himalayan Salt
Method:
Wet the rim of a glass with a cut piece of grapefruit. Pour some salt on a plate and dip the wet rim into the salt (only half way around the glass). Fill the glass with ice.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice then add the tequila, grapefruit Monin, Grenadine, lime juice, and simple syrup. Shake until cold then strain into the prepared glass.
Add grapefruit to garnish and top with grapefruit juice to taste.
Elsie Road has quickly established itself as the top choice for a bespoke signature cocktail experience at the most exclusive hen or stag night and wedding day.
“Elsie Road is proving to be a big hit with brides-to-be wanting to give their hen night or wedding day guests a truly personal cocktail service. Of course, we offer our signature traditional cocktails, but can accommodate those guests wanting something little different as our mixologists will add an individual twist,” said Skinner.
In addition to Elsie Road being the key attraction at any hen night, their latest offer has been a huge success: a masterclasses in cocktail making at the special price of just £20 per person, with Brides being taught for free!
“Not just an amazing addition to wedding celebrations, Elsie Road is perfect for all kinds of events from corporate hospitality to celebrity private events. We were thrilled when Amanda Holden booked us for one of her parties.” said Natalie.
Elsie Road on its own, or accompanied by cocktail making classes, adds a very special ingredient not just for hen nights, but for stag nights and indeed any party. Cocktails can be tailored to incorporate the theme of any event.
