Altamura Distilleries announces wildlife charity partnership with Born Free

A new global partnership that brings together premium Italian craft and frontline wildlife conservation, united by one of the world’s most enduring symbols: the lion.

Altamura Distilleries has announced a global partnership with Born Free, the international wildlife charity founded by Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna following their starring roles in Born Free.

At the heart of the collaboration is a shared emblem. The Lion of Puglia, drawn from the historic coat of arms of Altamura, has long symbolized protection and guardianship of the land and its wheat fields.

For Born Free, the lion represents Elsa, whose story sparked a global conservation movement and led to the creation of the charity.

This is more than a symbolic alignment. Altamura Distilleries Vodka will introduce:

• A corporate donation supporting Born Free’s rescue and conservation programme’s

• A global calendar of fundraising events engaging the international hospitality community

• A dedicated Altamura cocktail bar at the Born Free Gala in London this March

• Ongoing international activations blending culture, gastronomy and conservation storytelling

Frank Grillo, Co Founder of Altamura Distilleries, describes the partnership as a commitment to use the brand’s global platform and community to help safeguard wildlife for future generations.

With global wildlife facing unprecedented pressures, this partnership offers a compelling lifestyle angle: craftsmanship with conscience. Each bottle sold contributes to conservation impact, while hospitality driven events offer accessible entry points for audiences to engage with Born Free’s mission.

Altamura Distilleries Vodka is crafted exclusively from 100 percent Italian Altamura wheat and has rapidly expanded across Europe, Asia and the United States. The brand was recently named in Wine Enthusiast’s Top 100 Spirits with a 94 point score and partners with The World’s 50 Best Hotels and The World’s 50 Best Bars globally.
