Mindful Chef, the UK’s favourite healthy recipe box service (source: Trustpilot) has reported a 165% increase in sales (based on sales week on week), as public caution regarding Coronavirus increases.
Tim Lee, CEO of Mindful Chef, comments: “We have noticed a spike in new customer sign-ups, with a 165% uplift in deliveries this week. The timing of this increase coincides with news from other countries affected by the Coronavirus reporting an impact on the online food delivery sector. At this stage, we can only assume this is the start of something similar happening in the UK, as we see increased consumer demand for online food services that offer home delivery.”
Mindful Chef has seen an uplift across all of the brand’s ranges, with one person, two-person, family boxes and frozen meals all experiencing a hike in sales, as fears of public safety set in.
The news is the latest in an emerging trend for the British public to opt for delivery services amid the Coronavirus outbreak. Online British supermarket Ocado has recently advised its customers to place orders earlier due to ‘exceptionally high demand’.
The number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Britain is currently thirty-nine.
