The Soap Co.’s new Wild Nettle & Sage hand wash and lotion makes a splash in the hotel, restaurant and catering sector

The award winning The Soap Co. has launched its new Wild Nettle & Sage hand wash and hand lotion – as part of its ethical, luxury eco and bee-friendly range. Created with eco-certified ingredients that aren’t harmful to aquatic life, its vegan and biodegradable eco range is made by a workforce 80% of whom are blind, disabled or otherwise disadvantaged.

The Wild Nettle and Sage fragrance is already proving popular with some leading restaurants and hospitality venues having ordered it for use in their washrooms.

One of the first to feature The Soap Co.’s Wild Nettle & Sage is chef Tom Brown’s new much hyped restaurant, Cornerstone, in London’s Hackney Wick. Tom Brown, a protégé of the acclaimed Nathan Outlaw, named the restaurant after Brown’s favourite Arctic Monkeys track.  He will base his ingredient choice on using only the very best of British produce.

Tom Brown comments: “We chose The Soap Co. and the Wild Nettle & Sage hand wash and lotion for our washrooms as we love both what the brand represents, and the quality of the products is outstanding.

“We wanted to support a social enterprise in our part of London that helps blind and disadvantaged people into employment and we also looked high and low for a brand that both looks, smells and feels great – and that would be appreciated by our customers and staff alike. We look forward to developing our relationship with The Soap Co. and to using its ethical and luxury products as we establish our new venture in East London.”

Also on board with the Wild Nettle & Sage fragrance is Market Halls, an exciting venture establishing a new concept in British food halls in three venues across London. The first, Market Hall Fulham, will be taking over the abandoned Edwardian ticket hall of Fulham Broadway tube station that hasn’t been used for 15 years.

Simon Anderson, Chief Operating Officer, Market Halls, says: “We initially chose The Soap Co. for the sheer quality and innovation of their products. Then we came to understand about their ethics and all the good that this leading social enterprise is doing to help blind and disadvantaged people. It feels great to clean your conscience while cleaning your hands!”

Inspired by the British countryside, The Soap Co.’s Wild Nettle & Sage products are created with 100% natural fragrance – a guaranteed pleaser for those who love a refined and unique scent. The uplifting Wild Nettle & Sage fragrance is composed of 13 natural oils, keeping washrooms and bathrooms smelling fresh all year round.

Camilla Marcus-Dew, Co-Founder of The Soap Co. said: “We are seeing a natural synergy with so many forward-looking businesses, including many in the event, hospitality, restaurant and hotel sectors. Our carefully designed collections are natural fits for these aspirational institutions.

“Just one 5 litre container of The Soap Co. hand wash creates more than 2 hours of employment for people who really need it. Switching soap for social good whilst retaining that all-important luxury look and feel in up-market venue washrooms is precisely why The Soap Co. brand was created.”

NOTES

Each bottle sold from The Soap Co.’s eco and bee friendly range helps between 10 to 20 bees as they contain skin soothing calendula and borage botanicals from British farms. Borage and calendula provide a vital source of food for bees during the June nectar gap and enable last minute nectar collection before winter.

The Soap Co.’s social and environmental ethos work perfectly together. 93% of the ingredients from its eco and bee-friendly range are sourced from British companies and it is a proud holder of The Planet Mark, an internationally recognised sustainability scheme in partnership with the Eden Project that certifies organisations committed to year-on-year progress on sustainability and reduction of carbon emissions.
