Redcomb ramps up expansion with purchase of The Old Manor in Potters Bar

Successful pub operator, Redcomb Pubs Ltd, owned by Dan Shotton and Mark Draper, has added a further site to its growing portfolio of pubs and pubs with rooms. Hot on the heels of the purchase of The Old Shades, Whitehall in October, Redcomb has acquired a further site, The Old Manor in Potters Bar.

Dating back to the 13th Century, The Old Manor is one of the oldest surviving buildings in the town,  once forming part of the Manor House of Wyllyotts. Complete with Tudor timber beams and many original features, The Old Manor is rich in local history and charm.

A favourite amongst the local community and visitors to the town, The Old Manor is a popular pit stop for commuters using nearby Potters Bar railway station, as well as theatre goers attending performances at the Wyllyotts Theatre, located directly opposite the pub.

The spacious pub features a 170 cover dining room with vaulted ceilings and access to a galleried dining area, expansive bar and private function area for hire. Serving a selection of traditional pub classics, The Old Manor is also renowned for its extensive range of real ales and quality service. The site will fit seamlessly into Redcomb Pub’s portfolio of home county properties, each focusing on a traditional, affordable pub offering that centres on providing great hospitality for the local community to which it belongs.

Commenting on the purchase, Dan Shotton, managing director of Redcomb Pubs says;

“The Old Manor comes to the Redcomb Pub estate with great heritage and a great reputation, making it a fabulous, well-researched addition to our growing portfolio. Our continued expansion strategy has seen two new acquisitions in as many months, adding strength to both our London and home county representation within the UK pub sector. Well established, quality sites such as The Old Manor come along too infrequently and we are delighted to be bringing this well-loved site into the Redcomb fold. We look forward to working with the current team at the pub, meeting the locals and providing them with the top notch food, drink and hospitality that Redcomb Pubs has become so renowned for.”
