Campaign Celebrates the Ceaseless Passion that goes into Creating a Perfectly Balanced Gin

Today, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE®, the world and UK’s #1 premium gin, announces the launch of its summer campaign ‘A Gin of Ten Journeys’. The campaign recognises the ten journeys BOMBAY SAPPHIRE embarks upon to create its perfectly balanced gin. Activity throughout the summer will feature a heavyweight media campaign and see the return of The Grand Journey, an immersive drinking and dining experience inspired by BOMBAY SAPPHIRE’s own botanical journeys around the world.

‘A Gin of Ten Journeys’ is a celebration of the unique travels that Ivano Tonutti, Master of Botanicals at BOMBAY SAPPHIRE, makes across the globe to not only source the world’s finest botanicals but to ensure that they are sustainably sourced through relationships which benefit both BOMBAY SAPPHIRE and the communities which grow its exquisite botanicals.

‘A Gin of Ten Journeys’ will appear across a variety of ad platforms across Europe; in the UK, this will launch in June and will include press, static and digital out-of-home, digital display and social media. There will also be a series of animated films detailing the myths and provenance of the BOMBAY SAPPHIRE botanicals, viewable across owned and social channels.

This year, The Grand Journey has evolved and is Bombay Sapphire’s experiential expression of ‘A Gin of Ten Journeys, taking consumers on board the Laverstoke Express train for an inspirational journey through the latest creative innovative technology, to explore the ten stories, myths and provenance behind the ten botanicals blended in harmony in BOMBAY SAPPHIRE. This year, travellers will be offered an elevated culinary experience as Michelin Star chefs take up the challenge of creating bespoke dishes which celebrate and infuse botanical flavours.

In the UK, Restaurant Story founder, Tom Sellers, will create world-class dishes to accompany exquisite botanical infused BOMBAY SAPPHIRE cocktails created by Sean Ware, Northern European Ambassador for Bombay Sapphire.

Sean Ware, who will be leading the development of the cocktails for The Grand Journey in the UK, Germany and Netherlands, comments: “What’s exciting about creating drinks for this project is that the challenge for each country is so different; from the technique, textures and overall flavour experience to the style of cuisine itself. Working with Tom Sellers has been an insightful experience; his ability to tell stories through his food has inspired the way we’ve approached the cocktail creation process. Without giving too much away the drinks pair wonderfully with the dishes, but on their own stand strong and tell their own stories. All the serves are heavily inspired by the culture, flavours and people from each of the botanical locations.”

 The Grand Journey will begin rolling out across three primary European cities, bringing a truly worldly interactive journey to a vast audience. The tour will take place from June onwards and can be seen in Madrid (17-23 June), Hamburg (27 June – 1st July), London (17th – 23rd July) and Amsterdam (21–24 August).  The chefs aboard The Grand Journey include: Tristan Brandt, who will provide the menu for Hamburg, Tom Sellers in London, as well as, Maria Marte, Javier Aranda, and Ramon Freixa all three of whom will be partnering to create a one of a kind experience in Madrid.

Northern and Southern Europe brand ambassadors will create signature serves to accompany the chef’s menus aboard The Grand Journey train experience, after which guests will be able to enjoy bespoke cocktails created in collaboration with mixologists from across Europe at the Laverstoke bars.
