Cloudy Bay to invest in summer long marketing campaign with Chelsea Flower Show & Harvey Nichols

Cloudy Bay has confirmed it will return to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for a second year, once more teaming up with multi–award winning garden design studio Wilson McWilliam. The Marlborough based winery has increased its investment in the show, which runs from 20th to 24th May, with the inaugural Cloudy Bay Bar, which will serve signature wines – Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir – to the show’s 157,000 visitors. The activity is now the key U.K. marketing initiative for the brand.

Focusing on aroma, structure, texture, sound and visual appearance, the Cloudy Bay Sensory Garden is designed to recreate the taste experience and interpret the diversity, complexity, elegance and handcrafted nature of Cloudy Bay wines. The garden design also hints at the terroir in the Marlborough region, its micro-climates and diverse soil types. The Cloudy Bay Sensory Garden will be located on the Main Avenue MA3 and The Cloudy Bay Bar will be located on South Ranelagh Way within the Flower Show.

The Cloudy Bay Bar is a joint initiative between the winery and the creative design agency, W3. Briefed to envisage a simple and elegant space reflecting the Marlborough wine making region, W3’s design uses natural lime washed wood with floral details emulating elements of the adjacent garden and outdoor lanterns creating an intimate evening glow. The space features a long central refectory-style table offering sociable and communal seating. Smaller, occasional tables surround the central area featuring parasols. Tables, chairs and decorative features such as throws and lanterns have been supplied by The White Company, in addition to its signature scented candles. David Wiseman from W3 comments, “Our solution was to create a space that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing as well as on-brand for Cloudy Bay. 90 percent of the materials used in the production of the bar are recyclable and can be used again in other formats as we took a modular approach to the design.”

Once Chelsea finishes, Cloudy Bay will transplant some elements of its garden to Knightsbridge to create the Harvey Nichols Cloudy Bay Terrace. The activity, which will see the Fifth Floor restaurant team create a special menu to match the Cloudy Bay portfolio, will launch on 2nd June as part of London Wine Week (which runs from 2nd to 8th June) and will extend for two months until the end of July. During London Wine Week The Cloudy Bay Terrace at Harvey Nichols will offer visitors the opportunity to

try the full range of wines for just £5 per glass during London Wine Week only. Visitors can choose from
the sparkling Pelorus, Sauvignon Blanc Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. A special “à la carte” tasting menu
will be served both on the terrace and in the Fifth Floor café throughout the period. Created by
Executive Chef, Chris Bower, the menu will complement the complexity of the wines. For further

Maria Ines Pina, Brand Manager of Cloudy Bay comments: “The immersive nature of our garden at The
Chelsea Flower Show offers a different way of interacting with our target consumer; a more theatrical
way to bring Cloudy Bay wines to life to a vibrant, urbanite audience. Taking the garden to the iconic
Harvey Nichols, will extend exposure to a wider audience over the busy summer months.”
