On May 31st Bobo Social will open in Ealing at 3/4 Filmworks Walk, W5 5FA, bringing West London a taste of its signature cuisine, bespoke cocktails, and warm customer services, Marking the third opening in this much-loved series of restaurants, the first Bobo opened its doors in 2014 on Charlotte Street,, Fitzrovia, to great critical acclaim from the likes of Fay Maschler, Grace Dent and Giles Coren. The second followed in Elephant Park in 2020.
Located in Ealing’s new innovative Filmworks development, Bobo Social will be a 120-seater restaurant, extending to 160 seats courtesy of its impressive summer terrace. Patrons can sit at a variety of tables including at the long, inviting bar where they can watch the staff make their signature cocktails, or enjoy the culinary theatre through its open kitchen. The entrance wall compromises one large bifold door allowing daylight (and hopefully sunshine) to envelope the space.
Bobo prides itself on providing delicious staples and slants on modern British and European cuisine, employing classic techniques and fresh produce. Their daily brunch menu will be available between 9am and 3pm and includes their popular Full Bobo Breakfast with vegan and vegetarian options available. Enjoyed best with one of Bobo’s Envie Skin Drinks, cold pressed juices made in-house, such as The Glow (Cold Pressed Orange, Beetroot, Carrot, Lime, Flax Seeds, Marine Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid) – sure to make you shine all day. Those looking to further enliven their visit often accompany Sunday Brunch with a Bloody Mary or Mimosa, or Bobo’s signature Boborita, their take on the classic Spicy Margarita, with Jalapeno Infused Tequila.
Beyond brunch, the a la carte menu includes starters that are often enjoyed as sharing plates such as Chilli Salt Squid, Braised Lamb Croquettes and Devon Crab Tostada. Lighter options for main courses include the Warm Goats’ Cheese with Waldorf Salad, whilst Bobo’s acclaimed Smash Burger has proven popular in all Bobo outlets. The warm chocolate fondant is their bestselling dessert to eat, but most popular are the ones you drink – think Irish Tiramisu (Jameson, Baileys, Kahlua, Caramel, Double Cream, Cocoa Sprinkler) or Lemon Sherbet (Lazzaroni, Cinnamon Syrup, Lime Juice, Float of Sauvignon Blanc). With an extensive and well thought out wine list, there is no doubt that drinks, as well as food, rest at the heart of the Bobo experience.
The owner and founder, Michael Benson, who has flourished in the industry for 30 years, and has been a long-term Ealing resident himself, has long seen the potential of opening a Bobo Social in W5, adding something great to an already thriving part of London. Able to cater to all demographics through a flexible choice of cocktails and ‘nibbles’ to a full three course extravaganza, the Bobo Social offering appeals to Ealing’s many residents, as much as it does to its tourists and work community.
With the many economic afflictions facing the average Londoner at present (and indeed most UK residents), the migration out of central London and into bustling neighbourhoods with great transport links has never been more in demand. The creation of The Filmworks development and the arrival of Bobo Social shines a light on Ealing’s ever growing potential and is a great reason to visit this bustling West London suburb.
