Valle dell’Erica Resort, reconfirmed as “Europe’s Leading Green Resort” and “Italy’s Leading Green Resort”. Resort & SPA Le Dune in Badesi has also been awarded as “Italy’s Leading Beach Resort”.
The family-run chain of 4* and 5* hotels, a symbol of hospitality in the North of Sardinia, has won four important accolades at the 2021 ‘Oscars of the world Tourism Industry’. Elena Muntoni, Brand Manager, said: “The results achieved to date are proof of how it is possible to do business whilst respecting and enhancing the environment. These awards fill us with pride and inspire us to commit ourselves more and more to offer the Gallura hospitality that has distinguished us for 29 years”
Since 2018 Delphina hotels & resorts is also part of Elite, the Italian Stock Exchange project for high-potential companies.
“Italy’s Leading Hotel Group”, “Europe’s Leading Green Resort” and “Italy’s Leading Green Resort” at the Resort Valle dell’Erica Thalasso & SPA, “Italy’s Leading Beach Resort” at the Resort & SPA Le Dune: these are the four accolades awarded to Delphina hotels & resorts during the award ceremony at the World Travel Awards 2021, known as the “Oscars of world tourism industry” within the sector. An important reward that reconfirms the successes achieved recently, starting with the title of “Italy’s Leading Hotel Group 2021”, awarded to Delphina hotels & resorts for the second consecutive year. But Delphina’s race is not over yet: the Sardinian hotel group is also on the shortlist of possible winners worldwide, nominated as the World’s Leading Green Independent Hotel Group.
With the environment high on the political world stage and agenda, these awards are particularly timely ahead of the upcoming COP26 UN Climate Change Conference, hosted by the UK in partnership with Italy, to address what each country can do to tackle climate change. Delphina is proud to do their part in offering holiday makers the certified ‘greenest resort in Europe’ to enjoy.
“These accolades fill us with pride, even more so during such a difficult year – says Elena Muntoni, Delphina Brand Manager – We thank our supporters who enthusiastically rewarded our actions and our green philosophy that has been based since the beginning on sustainability, love for nature and that local and familiar touch that we continually try to convey”.
Rooted in nature and respecting the local landscape, Delphina’s corporate mission is to offer authentic Mediterranean hospitality in unique places with twelve 5-star, 4-star Superior and 4-star hotels, exclusive residences, 6 SPAs and prestigious villas all immersed in green Mediterranean gardens overlooking the sea between the Costa Smeralda, the Archipelago of La Maddalena and the Gulf of Asinara, in the towns of Cannigione, Palau, Santa Teresa Gallura, Isola Rossa and Badesi. The Sardinian hotel chain has long adopted sustainable growth policies towards the environment and is at the forefront in supporting local producers of food and wine. Since 2018, the company has entered the Intesa San Paolo “Lounge” of Elite, the Italian Stock Exchange and London Stock Exchange project for high-potential companies carried out in collaboration with Confindustria.
The Valle dell’Erica Resort was also awarded and elected for the third time “Europe’s Leading Green Resort” which contributes to the reconfirmation at national level as “Italy’s Leading Green Resort”.
“The unique nature of Sardinia is our primary resource and has always been at the center of our projects – continues Muntoni -. Winning this title for three consecutive years is proof that we are on the right track. It is the marker of how it is possible to do business whilst respecting and enhancing the local environment. And from the very beginning, we have ensured that every single building fits harmoniously into the surrounding landscape, close to the nature and traditions of this land”.
A great milestone for the elegant resort with a green soul just a few minutes from Santa Teresa Gallura, designed to offer a 5-star holiday in freedom. An exclusive location in the Mediterranean immersed in 28 hectares of park, among Mediterranean shrubs and essences, in front of 1,400 meters of pristine coastline and dream beaches of white sand, it overlooks the archipelagos of La Maddalena and southern Corsica. Like all Delphina hotels, Valle dell’Erica Resort uses only 100% green energy from renewable sources, has adopted important plastic free policies and supports healthy, local cuisine based on genuine ingredients and preferably at km 0.
Also reconfirmed the Resort & SPA Le Dune in Badesi, re-elected as Italy’s Leading Beach Resort. Immersed in a park of 280,000 square meters between sand dunes, junipers and scented Mediterranean scrub, this family-friendly paradise is a true natural oasis with 5 hotels, 10 restaurants, an elegant SPA, numerous free leisure activities and services to practice water sports.
“The award – concludes Muntoni – fills us with pride and inspires us to do better and better. The beauty of the Blue Flag Li Junchi beach, right in front of the resort, makes our offer unique. 8 kilometers long, it is also very popular with guests who can take long walks on almost deserted areas and thanks to the Nautical Center, practice various water sports: canoeing, sailing courses with catamarans, windsurfing and kitesurfing. The sand dunes behind the beach have fascinating vegetation, populated by junipers, sea roses and other essences, while the stunning view ranges from the islet of Isola Rossa to Asinara Island”. A five-hectare farm with a vegetable garden, orchard, vineyard and olive grove is also open to visits by adults and children to get to know the indigenous plants and expand the resort’s 0 km production.
The Valle dell’Erica Resort and the Le Dune Resort, like the other hotels in the Delphina collection, offer excellence in sustainable hospitality. A journey that began even before the birth of the hotels and merged into the We are green® brand, created and registered by Delphina to represent its love for nature with a protocol of good practices. Delphina hotels & resorts is the first Italian hotel chain to use 100% green energy from renewable sources in all hotels, resorts and headquarter, with a saving of 3,536 tons of CO2 each year, the equivalent of the CO2 absorbed by 25,000 trees. The company is also committed to supporting local suppliers with the “Genuine Local Food Oriented®” project, a Delphina quality brand, in support of healthy cuisine based on genuine ingredients that respect seasonality, preferably at 0 km.
