Fiit announces a series of hotel partnerships as the brand continues to prove itself to be the world’s most convenient fitness experience

  • Fiit adds luxury hotel, Shangri-La, At the Shard, to the brands growing portfolio of premium partners
  • Partnership to offer remote fitness and training solutions for both short and long term visitors
  • The announcement comes as Fiit continues its pursuit to become the world’s most accessible fitness offering

Fiit, the UK’s leading digital fitness experience has today announced its latest partnership with Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London – the second in a series of recent hotel partnerships.

With a partnership already in place with the innovative lifestyle aparthotel brand, Locke, Fiit is continuing to prove itself to be the world’s most convenient fitness platform, tapping into new markets by offering quality fitness and training solutions for both short and long-term visitors to each hotel group.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant effect on consumer behaviours and introduced an array of new technologies and systems, successfully revolutionising the way we live today. The same is true for the hospitality sector, with in-room fitness solutions set to become a mainstream offering.

With health now, a major priority for consumers across the globe, supporting customers’ wellness desires has never been so important. The new offering from Fiit will give guests full autonomy on how, when and where they work out.

As the UK continues to ease lockdown restrictions this remote fitness solution also tackles ongoing social distancing regulations, by enabling hotel guests to work out together, from their separate rooms.

Billed as one of Western-Europe’s tallest buildings and first-ever vertical city, The Shard offers spectacular views of London and boasts an array of premium amenities. With the 5-Star Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London occupying levels 34 to 52 of the building – guests who partake in the digital fitness offering can do so with unparalleled views, taking their usual mundane workout to new heights, elevating their overall experience.

Guests of the hotel will be offered a one-month free membership to Fiit, enabling them to access the interactive fitness experience for the duration of their stay and once they leave the hotel. Information on Fiit will be hosted on the hotel’s SuitePad within the wellness section. The QR code featured here will direct guests straight to a co-hosted membership page, enabling them to download the app onto their phones or tablets. From here, guests can choose from any of Fiit’s 700+ on-demand classes. From HIIT to Yoga and Barre to strength-based workouts, there is a class to suit every preference.

In addition to the on-demand class offerings, Fiit’s innovative Group Classes mean that visitors can connect to a live leaderboard and train together, racing one another to the top. Shangri-la Hotel, At The Shard, London hopes to create a Fiit community for guests staying at the hotel, offering early morning, private group classes hosted by the hotel. These classes will also include the live leaderboard feature providing all the camaraderie and motivation of an in-person fitness class.

“We’re very pleased to partner with Fiit to offer guests a range of fitness experiences including live leaderboard HIIT classes, interval training, barre classes and more from the privacy of their guest room, enhancing the variety of the exclusive services we provide here at the hotel,” said Kurt Macher, General manager at Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London

Having previously announced a partnership with innovative lifestyle aparthotel brand, Locke, the self-contained apartment brand will continue its mission to create a home-from-home experience for its guests. With wellness being a priority for Locke, guests of its eight locations in the UK, Ireland and Germany will be given a 30-day complimentary trial of the Fiit platform.

Access to the complimentary trial can be accessed through the Locke QR Code, provided by the House Host upon check-in, directing guests straight to a landing page where they will fill out a form to receive a unique Locke code, which is then used when logging into the Fiit app. The app can be downloaded from the Android or Apple App Store.

Yoga mats are included in all Locke apartments as a brand standard, and should guests choose to join an equipment class all locations – with the exception of Eden Locke in Edinburgh – have fully equipped gyms on-site for members to use.

Eric Jafari, Chief Development Officer at Locke’s parent company, edyn, said of the partnership: “Designing spaces that empower guests to maintain their day-to-day habits while feeling part of a community when they travel is central to the Locke guest experience. We are privileged to have partnered with Fiit because they embody our vision of blending wellness and autonomy with the community. We are excited about offering our guests the option of working out with the Fiit community in the privacy of their own spacious apartment, or in one of our gyms. Wellness is a priority for us and our guests and the response so far has been overwhelmingly positive.”

Fiit is the UK’s category-leading digital fitness experience. Since its launch in 2017, the brand has seen exceptional growth, with members taking over 6.5 million classes on the app, with a 600% growth of active subscribers over the last year. The team is committed to creating a platform that offers engaging and motivating content, helping them to build healthy, consistent habits. By venturing into the hotel space, the brand will be able to further this, enabling guests to engage with enjoyable exercise solutions while away from home.

Daniel Shellard CEO at Fiit says: “We are delighted to join forces with both Locke and Shangri-La London as their first digital fitness partner. At Fiit, our mission is to make fitness a habit for everybody. The intrinsic need for wellness offerings whilst travelling is increasingly more important. Finding ways to offer a convenient solution to allow them to seamlessly stick to their workout regime is critical – launching into hotels is a natural step for us, enabling guests to choose how, when and where they workout.

Our interactive workouts also help to create a genuine sense of community, with the innovative Group Class feature allowing guests to train together and race one another to the top of the interactive leaderboard, offering in-person accountability and motivation all from the comfort of their hotel rooms.”

Fiit is now available to guests of the Shangri-La at The Shard and at all Locke locations in the UK, Ireland and Germany.
