Luxury liquor brand, Rome De Bellegarde, today announces its new collaboration with internationally acclaimed, Iranian-French artist Ghass Rouzkhosh. Ghass was asked to create 150 limited edition bottles for the world-record breaking brand, combining Bellegard’s quintessential Cognac with Ghass’ contemporary edge.
Taking inspiration from many of Ghass’ significant artistic periods, each 750ml decanter has been exquisitely hand-painted, with world peace as a central theme to the design. His elegant creations also pay homage to the number 13, symbolic to his work and inspired Rome de Bellegarde XIII + I, the name of this limited edition cognac.
Earlier this year, the prestigious French House was entered into the Guinness Book of World Records boasting the most expensive 40ml cognac measure ever bought at £10,014. The successful record attempt was followed by the introduction of 1894 L’EVEIL des SENS a truly exquisite and historically important cognac from one of the rarest and oldest cuvees available, with only 67 bottles ever being created.
In 2018, Ghass, an artist often celebrated for his emotive, innovative and compelling pieces of art across a variety of media was commissioned by the French Football League (UNFP), to design their trophy for the best football players in the world. In May this year, the artist reimagined the French L1 Football Championship Best Player trophy into a stunning sculpture created, using the highest quality bronze and gold. The trophy which went onto to be awarded to Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazilian forward, Neymar, was eventually auctioned off by the PSG Foundation and bought by Mr Arnaud Lagardere for €240,000.
Rome de Bellegarde founder David Smeralda says: “We are honored to see our bottles reimagined by this masterful artist. He created a unique and stylish design that elegantly underlines the richness and rarity of our cognac, whilst capturing how iconic and precious this drink is…. This new collection also marks the first of several exciting collaborations between Rome de Bellegarde luxury liquor and other meaningful artists.”
The Rome de Bellegarde XIII + I limited edition bottles, each one presented in an ultra-contemporary box, offering a truly superb cognac of great tradition and flavours of over 25 years old, will be on sale later this month at London’s luxury Lanesborough Hotel, with two bottles on sale during an auction in September held by the PSG Foundation.
Sommelier & Advisor, Dimitri Nalin, adds:” This Cognac expresses an exceptional taste”
