Pomona’s Launches Hockney Inspired Cocktails

2017 it seems is to be the year of the artist David Hockney.  It’s hard at the moment to open a newspaper, magazine or look online not to catch the vivid colours of his 1970’s Californian retrospective.

Pomona’s, Notting Hill’s Californian and Hockney inspired bar and restaurant is celebrating all things David Hockney not only in its delightful décor but with the launch of a special range of cocktails, inspired by the work of this legendary British contemporary painter.

To celebrate the record breaking exhibition of Hockney’s work currently at the Tate Gallery until May 29th, Head Barman Kestutis Stirba, formerly Head Bartender at Gordon Ramsey Restaurants, The Sanderson Hotel and The Electric has created this stunning list of fabulous new drinks.

  •  Grand Canyon

Essentially it is a carrot negroni.

Inspired by David Hockney’s Grand Canyon paintings with its dark red and Orange colours. Combining Gin, Campari and Home Pressed Carrot juice.

  • Bigger Green Valley

Vividly green without tasting too healthy. Look at the painting & close your eyes, now take a sip, Combining Vodka, Citrus, Fresh Cucumber and Chartreuse

  • Rainy Promenade

Deep dark colours of “Rainy Night on Bridlington Promenade” inspired this delectable sipper.  Imagine a dusky evening on a rainy summer terrace, smelling the warmth in the air. Port, Tequila and Orange toped up with fresh smells of winter nights.

  • Beach Umbrella

Easily the best loved part of any exotic holiday, trying the most tantalizing, thirst quenching combinations in the shade.  Made for the beach! Inspired by the Painting.
