ORANGINALITY!- 55 ABOVE ANNOUNCE THE LAUNCH OF ITS NEW ORANGE INFUSED GIN

IWSC award winning independent Distillers 55 Above Limited, based in Brentwood, Essex, today announce the launch of their new Orange Infused Gin. This product has been distilled with the same meticulous care as 55 Above’s vodka range, and its zesty content provides a unique drinking experience – echoing the past in an entirely fresh and modern way.  The bottle design also represents a departure for 55 Above – the ‘Little Sumo’ black and orange, painted-effect bottle, with an orange wax stopper, has convincing bar display credentials.

Priced at £37.50 for the 70CL size, it reflects the artisan process in hand making this unique and premium gin.  The Company are now inviting direct orders as well as officially launching at Imbibe on the 4th and 5th of July at Olympia (stand B80).

In developing and launching this new product, 55 Above are aiming to equal their first year success, particularly in gaining IWSC (International Wine and Spirit Competition) silver medals for their Toffee Infused Vodka and the 56 Vodka in the Bloody Mary category. Combining the fire and passion of 55 Above’s spirits, and the crisp, refreshing bite of distilled gin and botancials, the Orange Gin is an original experience!

NR 1 Trade Gin Launch - pic 2

The natural juniper flavours of gin are mixed with a selection of lush botanicals – including tangerines,  Seville orange and lemon zests, coriander, bay leaves, and macadamia nuts – this drink will attract  bar customers who enjoy invigorating new experiences.  It can be served on its own over ice or traditionally with tonic and a large wedge of fresh orange.

The Company are offering the trade an opportunity to sample the new product until the end of August 2016, but limiting to 55 bottles of a 20cl limited edition bottle – this is the subject of a separate direct marketing campaign.

Speaking today, Craig Hogg, Brand and Development Manager of 55 Above, says “our intention is as always to deliver a compromise free product; and in calling it a ‘product’ it sounds clinical and contrived – but the Gin  we are now launching is far from clinical or contrived and in fact it was borne out of an idea to create a crisp gin with a unique taste, more like an experience  than a product. The gin took some 9 months of meddling with the recipe until we finally found a product that is unique and gives a lovely citrus undertone – just perfect for a nice summer afternoon”!
