World class female chefs unite for DEBRA UK

International culinary stars hosted by Michel Roux Jr support the fight against Epidermolysis Bullosa
The Great Chefs Dinner in aid of national charity DEBRA UK, returns to London, on Monday 3 February 2020 at The Langham, London in the West End.

The sumptuous dining experience, now in its fifth year, will take place in the dazzling Roux at the Landau Restaurant. Michel Roux Jr will be hosting the evening and his culinary skills will be accompanied for the first time with an all-female star line up including Ching He Huang, Sally Abé, Anna Haugh, Marianne Lumb and Chantelle Nicholson. Each of the chefs will be responsible for one course of the bespoke menu, from canapés to petit-fours.

DEBRA UK supports people suffering from Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a potentially fatal skin condition that causes constant pain due to unstoppable internal and external blistering.

DEBRA’s President, Falklands veteran Simon Weston CBE, a guest speaker at the event comments: “I am looking forward to attending my second DEBRA Great Chefs Dinner and enjoying the exciting menu from these world class chefs. It’s phenomenal that they are giving their valuable time to help us fight EB and raise the profile of the condition. I understand something of the pain and suffering that people with EB endure every day, which is why I am proud to be President of Debra UK supporting the charity and EB sufferers.”

Michel Roux Jr, Chef Patron of Le Gavroche, and the man behind Roux at the Landau and Roux at Parliament Square, says: “I am always so proud to host this fantastic fundraising event for DEBRA. It is such a wonderful charity and one that I and The Langham, London are thrilled to continue to support. I am delighted that in four years this event has raised over £270,000 for DEBRA. We have some absolutely exceptional chefs cooking this year for the fifth DEBRA Great Chefs Dinner and I know it will be a fantastic night raising money to fight EB.”

Sally Abé, Head Chef, The Harwood Arms: “I am so excited to be a part of the very first all-female chef team joining Michel to raise funds for this very worthy cause. I’ve heard wonderful things about the event in previous years and I’m delighted I get to experience it first-hand. The mackerel dish I’m cooking is a guest favourite at The Harwood Arms, and a personal favourite of mine!”.

The money raised at our 2020 Great Chefs Dinner will support DEBRA’s Fight EB Campaign to alleviate the debilitating symptoms of pain, itch, open wounds and mental health difficulties for those living with EB as we drive towards a cure. www.debra.org.uk
