DRINKUP.LONDON PRESENTS LONDON WINE WEEK (13TH – 19TH MAY)

This Spring, DrinkUp.London, founders of the UK’s largest drinks festival London Cocktail Week, will be bringing London Wine Week (13th-19th May) back for its sixth year in the capital. The main hub will be located at Flat Iron Square, London Bridge and will encourage wine enthusiasts and novices alike to try a selection of the best varieties of wine from London’s finest wine bars and worldwide producers.

Toasting London Cocktail Week’s 10th anniversary, Festival Passes will be FREE to those who download the DrinkUp.London app. The hub, which is open from midday to 11pm each night from Wednesday – Sunday, will feature a glorious selection of al-fresco wine bars, including Vins de ProvenceRenegade Winery and Berry Bros. & Rudd, to name a few!

In addition, more than 75 venues across the capital will be offering £6 wine trios and hosting a variety of events, with some bars also offering a glass of wine and food pairing option. Festival goers can partake in these self-guided Wine Tours, by simply flashing their free festival pass at the bar.

For wine lovers looking to make the most of a Merlot or raise a glass of Rosé outside of the hub, DrinkUp.London has selected the best bits to head to in the capital:

  • Humble Grape’s “Meet Our Hero Producers” will be serving a wine flight featuring a selection of wines from all over the world – Crémant d’Alsace Rosé from France (produced by Nicolas Laugner), a German Riesling produced by Stephan Attmann and a Syrah, Carignan, Grenache blend from South Africa produced by Francois Haasbroek
  • Salon’s Wine Store in Brixton will be introducing visitors to unfiltered Chenin from South Africa, skin-contact Grecanico from Sicily and a funky Cabernet Franc from Italy with their “Cloudy, Skinny, Funky!” flight, again for only £6.
  • Percy & Founders have chosen three French wines showcasing female biodynamic wine producers. The women running each of these domains have clear visions of exactly what “natural” means to them and have built themselves a reputation for producing wines that are expressive of their unique terroir.
  • Parisian-style wine bar Noble Rot in Holborn, will be offering classic Spanish pairing of Jamon Croquettes and Fino Sherry for just £10.
  • Other wine bars involved include Bedalesall six Hawksmoor sites and the newly-opened Angelina.
