Arc Inspirations, the award-winning premium bar operator, is set to expand its successful portfolio of venues with the opening of its largest BOX bar to date in Brindleyplace, Birmingham, this June. The group currently operates 18 premium bars across the Midlands and the North of England, under the brands of Banyan Bar & Kitchen, Manahatta and BOX.
BOX is a game-changing, high-quality sports bar and kitchen where customers can watch, play and party. Relaxed by day and energetic by night, BOX has something for everyone, with award-winning locations in Leeds City Centre, Headingley and Deansgate, Manchester. The brand-new 10,000sq ft venue holds 575 guests and is spread over two floors, featuring a spectacular upstairs bar and private dining room. The ground floor boasts an impressive open kitchen, an island bar, and is surrounded by 32 top-of-the-range TV screens so guests can watch the biggest and best sports live. Aside from being the best place to enjoy live sport, BOX will also feature two 18-foot maple wood European Shuffleboard tables so guests can have fun and fully immerse themselves in the sports vibe.
In addition to becoming Birmingham’s premier destination for live sport, this first-class venue will boast a mouth-watering food and drink offering, and a lively party atmosphere – with a live band every Friday and Saturday night playing favourite floor-fillers, along with a resident Bandeoke hosted every Thursday night, providing guests the chance to come on stage to perform with an experienced band. For those who don’t fancy singing on stage, a private karaoke room is also available for hire. The food menu includes a range of brand-new innovative showstopper dishes including Tater Tots, Hot Honey Pizza, a Pizza Fondue – triple cheese stuffed pizza dough smothered in garlic butter, with a fondue of melted cheese and pizza sauce, and Detroit-style fully loaded four cheese and tomato deep dish pizzas as well as the known classics including burgers, premium kebabs, and more, all made with the finest quality ingredients.
The venue’s top-class drinks selection is paired with high-quality, classic cocktails, and the newly developed menu will also feature a speciality section devoted to tequila-based cocktails. Not only this, but the venue will also offer BOX steins and sharing cocktails including the Pornstar Steintini and Largeritas, to truly bring the larger-than-life spirit to Birmingham. BOX guarantees a world class selection of beers for every occasion, from refreshing lagers and hoppy pale ales to fruity IPA’s and moreish stouts.
BOX Brindleyplace will be Arc Inspirations’ second venue in Birmingham, following the successful launch of Manahatta on Temple Street in 2021, and the new site will fit into the business’ ‘cluster strategy’ of operating complementary brands in close vicinity to each other in major cities.
Commenting on the news, Arc Inspirations CEO Martin Wolstencroft, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be opening our biggest venue ever. We love Birmingham and we’re confident BOX will quickly become a popular addition to the incredible nightlife and bar scene here, just like Manahatta has.
“BOX has been a huge hit in major cities like Leeds and Manchester, and this is the right time to bring the brand to the West Midlands. The new venue will create 70 jobs in the local area, including managers, bar, floor and kitchen staff and we’re truly delighted to be expanding our fantastic team.”
The new opening follows a period of strong trading for BOX, where like-for-like sales in the six weeks to the end of 2022 were up 22% year-on-year, and the Deansgate site in Manchester posted a company record gross sales week, turning over more than £200,000 thanks to two England games in the Men’s World Cup, and Tyson Fury vs Derek Chisora III.
Arc Inspirations posted record revenues for the year ending 31st March 2022, and the company is planning to open at least two more sites in a ‘transformational’ next twelve months – BOX in Nottingham, and Manahatta in Newcastle. In Nottingham, the company has been granted a license to open the 12,000 square foot former All Saints store on Thurland Street, while planning and licensing have also been approved for a site at a former Allied Irish Bank branch on Collingwood Street in Newcastle.
To supplement a year of significant growth, Arc is also investing record amounts in its people, with the announcement of its first ever company-wide summer party. Arc In The Park will take place in a secret location on July 4th, with all 19 sites closing for the day, giving more than 1,000 team members the chance to enjoy an exclusive, unforgettable festival experience, with drinks and music set to be provided courtesy of suppliers and partners.
