THE MARKET DISRUPTING CHOCOLATE DRINK BRAND CONTINUES GROWTH TRAJECTORY WITH FIRST CENTRAL LONDON DESTINATION
Knoops, the ambitious and pioneering British brand disrupting the chocolate drink market with its fully customisable chocolate percentage menu in-store is opening its seventh site, and first central London location, in Covent Garden on 2nd June at 2 New Row.
Following a successful new store launch in the city of Oxford earlier this year, the upcoming Knoops Covent Garden sets its sights on one of London’s most popular retail and theatre destinations. It also marks the brand’s first central London location, a milestone in its ambitious growth strategy which predicts 100 UK store openings in the next five years, with 10-15 earmarked for 2022, and 3,000 stores worldwide before 2030.
There are currently six Knoops stores, in Oxford, Brighton, Rye, Kensington, Chelsea, and Richmond. Each one is on a mission to make drinking chocolate a memorable and joyful experience and has different drink choices for every mood and season, from warming Hot Chocolates and Mochas to decadent Milkshakes and Iced Chocolates as well as a menu of teas and coffees.
Recently named in the top ten most popular shopping locations in Europe by UNiDAYS, Covent Garden was found to be included in 150,000 Google searches per month from people around the world with 25,000 Trip Advisor reviews. It has 1.48 million photos associated with the hashtag #coventgarden, the most of any European shopping destination in Europe. Capitalising on this reputation, the eye-catching Knoops store will be situated on 2 New Row in the heart of theatreland, appealing to London locals and visitors alike, as well as offering a hot and cold chocolate drinks venue for post retail pit stops.
Visitors can choose from the full range of chocolate percentages for their bespoke hot or cold chocolate experience. There are 20 different types to select, from a sweet, creamy 28% White all the way up to the deep, rich cocoa flavour of the 100% Extra Dark from the Solomon Islands. Knoops also has a diverse plant-based offering. All of the chocolates that are 54 percent and over are suitable for vegans.
Shoppers can also purchase gifts and keepsakes from the store, including the pioneering cookbook, Knoops – Chocolate recipes through the day. The recipe book features 40 drinks and 20 dishes, all created using Knoops chocolate flakes and ingredients found in most kitchen cupboards.
Knoops is led by international chocolatier Jens Knoop, who founded his brand on the original concept of Knoopology: the art of crafting the perfect chocolate drink. The brand launched in 2013, opening its first store in Rye, East Sussex, and now has three further outlets across key London neighbourhoods and a coastal store in Brighton and a recently opened Oxford store.
Jens Knoop, founder of Knoops comments: “We are excited to provide visitors and locals to Covent Garden a comforting treat in the form of a delicious hot or cold chocolate drink – to add to their memories whilst exploring the hustle and bustle of the city, or as a welcome break in their working day.”
Passionate about sustainability, Knoops uses as much recycled, recyclable and compostable materials as it can. It has partnered with a select group of chocolate makers, large and small*, who are genuinely committed to improving the sustainability of their cocoa.
