Puerto Rico’s Award-Winning Rum Producer Refreshes their European Portfolio of Super Premium Aged Rums, Available in UK & Europe
Destilería Serrallés Inc., the producer of award-winning Don Q Rum, made from the finest reserves in Puerto Rico, is delighted to introduce its curated portfolio including Don Q Reserva 7 and Don Q Gran Reserva XO to the UK and Europe available now.
The transatlantic expansion of the brand began in 2014 and is set to increase this year in response to increased demand and a peak in the numbers of ‘rum curious’ spirits fans looking to broaden their horizons.
Both Don Q Reserva 7 and Don Q Gran Reserva XO are launching in the UK and Europe with the new Don Q branding and bottle design. The glass bottles aim to evoke the heritage and quality that has characterized the rums crafted by the Serrallés family for 156 years.
Don Q Reserva 7 is a vibrant blend of multi-column distilled light rums and single copper column distilled heavy rums, which were aged for a minimum of seven years in American white oak barrels.
Commenting on the launch in UK & Europe, Silvia Santiago, Master Blender and Maestra Ronera at Destilería Serrallés said: “Hand-selected and blended Puerto Rican rums, aged for a minimum of seven years, are used to create our delicious Don Q Reserva 7 rum. Don Q Gran Reserva XO is a rebranding of the award-winning Don Q Gran Añejo, a signature blend of the distillery’s portfolio. The brand’s new packaging highlights Don Q’s values of heritage, quality and tradition. The Gran Añejo rum blend has earned over 60 medals and accolades since its original launch.
Commenting on the refreshed brand and packaging, Destilería Serrallés Chief Marketing Officer Gabriella Ripepi added, “We updated the Don Q bottle design and packaging to create a look and feel that reflected the quality and craftsmanship of the super-premium aged rum inside each bottle.
“Our favorite brand evolution can be seen through the Gran Reserva XO which has been one of the most beloved expressions for more than 25 years. As part of the journey, we wanted to keep the same great blend of aged rums under the new name of Gran Reserva XO as it better articulates the exclusive nature of the reserve rums that are blended to produce it.”
The curated portfolio is also joined by other award-winning rums from the Don Q portfolio, including Don Q Cristal, Doun Q Double Aged Vermouth Cask Finish, Don Q Double Aged Sherry Cask Finish and their Don Q Spiced Rum; all of which are fantastic in cocktails such as an old fashioned or pina colada, or sipped neat over ice.
