Banging burgers, British beef and local beers are the order of the day at this new hotspot
August 2021: FOXDEN, a new burger restaurant specialising in high quality, beefy delights, has arrived in south-west London.
Spearheaded by owner Paul Foxon, who spent his childhood on the family’s beef farm in Warwickshire, FOXDEN takes pride in creating the best gourmet burgers possible by only using dry-aged, grass-fed British beef and fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Paul has years of working in hospitality under his belt, predominantly as front of house where he has held positions with The Ritz, Boisdale and Red Carnation Hotels, so has drawn on his decades of industry knowledge to open FOXDEN, his first solo project that has proved to be a huge hit over the last year.
Noticing a burger-shaped hole in Fulham’s dining scene, FOXDEN was forced to initially open for deliveries and takeaways only, due to lockdown coinciding with their opening, but with brighter times ahead, it is now fully open as an eat-in restaurant.
In its short existence, FOXDEN has quickly established itself as a firm favourite for locals and Londoners alike and has just been awarded 9.7/10 from the well-regarded and well-followed (270k on Facebook) Food Review Club – one of the highest scores they have ever given. FOXDEN is also one of the six finalists from London for the British takeaway restaurant awards in the category of best new restaurant for 2022 – so it’s fair to say FOXDEN is off to a great start.
Perfect for families, solo diners and groups of friends, FOXDEN ‘s upbeat and casual vibe makes it a south-west dining destination, offering an inclusive menu of gourmet burgers with exciting additions and house-made sauces, doing the classics in immaculate fashion alongside inventive new styles. Can we add that there is an option to sit inside or outside?
Highlights from the menu include: Foxden Burger (Beef patty, slow-braised pulled beef, truffled cheese sauce, rocket, and red onion jam); Bacon Cheeseburger (Beef Patty, treacle cured bacon, cheese lettuce, gherkin, and house sauce); and Hunters Chicken Burger (Grilled free range British chicken, treacle bacon, Cheddar cheese, Foxden BBQ sauce and slaw). Special dietary requirements have also been catered for with gluten-free buns available as well as meat-free options such as Vegetarian Burger (House-made bean burger, vegan bacon, Cheddar cheese, healthy slaw, and house sauce) and Vegan Burger (House-made bean burger, vegan bacon, vegan cheese, healthy slaw, and chipotle veganaise).
Sides come in the form of the indulgent and unmissable pulled beef nuggets, hot and crispy sweet potato fries and rosti bites. With a strong farm to fork ethos, FOXDEN’s menu focuses on top quality ingredients, provenance, and sustainability, culminating in some of the very best burgers in the business. Can we add that a new menu is coming next month?
Celebrating the best of British produce, the extensive drinks list also shines a light on some of the country’s best brewers and wine makers, with beer sourced from neighboring brewery Gipsy Hill, and wine from Chapel Down, located in Sussex. The cocktail list features a fun selection of serves; from house-made specials to classic tipples.
Laid-back, intimate, and fun, FOXDEN is the new jewel in the Fulham culinary crown, taking burgers to the next level with style, flair, and sustainability at its core.
