Leaving no pun unturned, Top Cuvée & Shop Cuvée announce Take Cuvée, the meal delivery branch of their lockdown-proof portfolio

Brodie Meah and Max Venning are pleased to introduce Take Cuvée, the latest string to the Cuvée brand’s bow. Since the successful launch of Shop Cuvée in March, a pivot that saw the team go nationwide and which cemented them as the friendly faces of natural wines, they have been quietly developing delivery-friendly home meals in anticipation of lockdown 2.0.

Launching this Thursday under the helm of head chef Will Blank (previously Lyle’s), menus will change daily and will be available to order for same-day delivery in London. Alongside chef Will, Brodie will select rotating natural wine pairings to complement each menu, and to ensure maximum vibes from the front of house team, a Spotify playlist to accompany all orders.

Resuming their role as the nation’s natty wine supply, wine, bottled cocktails and lockdown store cupboard staples will all be available through Shop Cuvée online as well as for those who live locally to go and buy in person, while Top Cuvée goes back into hibernation – ready to welcome guests back in December.

Prepared fresh daily in the kitchen, Take Cuvée meals arrive with simple heating instructions. Priced at £35 for dinner for two (drinks not included)

About Shop Cuvée

Brodie Meah and Max Venning’s lockdown project, Shop Cuvée, opened the doors of bricks and mortar site, just in time for the curfew. Around the corner from restaurant mothership, Top Cuvée, the launch follows staggering Covid success and national expansion. The online shop began as a way to provide an income for the restaurant forced to close its doors back in March, a pivot that saw the brand explode in popularity for its unique and unstuffy approach to the world of natural wine.

Shop Cuvée plays host to hundreds of bottles of natural wines, from recognisable labels such as The Chin Chin Vinho Verde 2018 (£12), and original French Breton Cider (£9.5). Upon further exploration, and under expert guidance, discoveries to be made include juicy reds best enjoyed chilled and funky orange wines, ranging in hue or lively petillant naturels. Not ones to neglect the perfect snacks to complement their bottles available also are selections of cheeses from Neil’s Yard and cured meats from Cobble Lane, freshly sliced and wrapped to go. Straight from the kitchen at Top Cuvée, customers will find house-made delights from Pig’s head terrine to Guinea fowl rillette and their unrivalled whipped smoked cod’s roe. All bottles and dry products on sale will be available for same-day delivery in London, and very next day nationwide.

About Top Cuvée

Blackstock Road’s beloved neighbourhood restaurant and wine bar, launched in February 2019 to wide acclaim with Evening Standard magazine resident critic, Jimi Farmuwera predicting that ’The future looks bright for hip Highbury newcomer’. Recent events continue to prove him right with the latest project of hospitality veteran, Brodie Meah and award-winning bartender, Max Venning  quickly becoming an integral part of the local community, revered for its friendly buzzing atmosphere, changing seasonal menu and respect for natural wine without pretension.

Dishes at Top Cuvée rely on seasonality and simplicity, going back to basics of quality produce, suppliers and their locality. Menus are devised considering market availability and even from London’s bounty with their staff foraging the hedgerows of Highbury for blackberries destined to end up in that evening’s dessert. Changing menus feature snacks such as Bull’s heart tomatoescurds and marjoram and bread by bike’. Small sharing plates include Charcuterie from the London producer Cobble LaneFarm salad with Berkswell cheese, Cod’s roe and crudites, and Pig’s head terrine. Diners might finish with the Blackberry and almond tart or Raspberry macerated in Malvasia, a Mediterranean wine variety. On Sundays, diners can while away the afternoon with their £29 Sunday lunch menu including snacks, small plates and the main events such as Braised lamb shoulder and seasonal vegetables.
