Plonk Golf is the epitome of crazy golf absurdity. After plonking down in various locations across the capital Plonk London Fields has arrived to take East London by storm with its tiki bar, games machines and crazy golf parked right next to London Fields park.
Outside putters will find a sun-soaked private yard with views of the park trees and nine-hole course, inside the Pinball Parlour and arcade hosts more pinball machines than anywhere else in London (which will regularly be rotated with new stock) alongside retro arcade machines, shooters, foosballs and over 100 board games.
All of the above comes with a tasty BYOC offering to keep costs down in tough times. It’s a simple recipe, bring the booze, and Plonk will do the rest making summer and tropical cocktails out of the libations. Bring a base liquor and pick from the cocktail menu for sharer jugs. To stay nourished during the BYOC experience, every package includes jumbo sharer sandwiches, A round of golf, 10 tokens, sarnies plus BYOC which comes to £30 per person, but if the crowd brings beers or wines then the package costs £20 per person.
The inhouse ClubsandWedges Kitchen has created a summer menu to keep all golfers stuffed whilst drinking their own cocktail creations. A major highlight of the new site is the Wake And Bake Brunch, imagine free range eggs, cumberland sausage, homemade baked beans & mushrooms all baked in a sourdough loaf designed for sharing. On top of the above inhouse Ice cream parlour will whip up towered treats in the form of Floats and Boats. The “Berried Treasure”, made from blueberry sorbet, fresh raspberries, condensed milk, snow, and fresh fruit purees. All the sugary treats can have the home bought booze added in for that extra kick on request.
Seeing Plonk is situated right next to London Fields they’ve created a bespoke Plonk Picnic Package. Food will be catered for by ClubsandWedges Kitchen who’ll be knocking out the Picnic Loaves, with two jugs of mixer, ice and fruits ready for mixing with the shop bought booze. To provide some entertainment whilst purchasers sip on cold summery cocktails Plonk will provide a number of park games including Kubb (the ancient viking game), boules, skittles or park friendly board games and jumbo foam dice for some drinking snake and ladders.
Elliot Scott, founder of Plonk Golf says “After 5 years of pop ups across the capital we are now settled back in hackney where we first started. Now have this great spot on London Fields, we can bring you all of our favourite games, pinball machines, tiki cocktails and of course mini golf in one spot!! We’ve come home!”
The crazy golf course itself is a blast of buffoonery, the occasional trick shot is needed to hit those low pars but adults and children of ages can have plenty of fun in the sun. The course is full of bonuses so folks better pick routes wisely to see if they can get that hole in one. Inside, the games, seating and board games are there to keep all entertained for hours.
Due to the ongoing COVID crisis Plonk can only allow groups of up to six booking in one sitting. Extra sanitization, cleaning and social distancing measures will be in place alongside following all government guidelines and preventative measures.
