MUCH-LOVED COUNTRY HOUSE HOTEL, BEAVERBROOK, TO REOPEN ITS DOORS ON SATURDAY 4 JULY
On Saturday 4 July, Beaverbrook in Surrey with its 470 acres of landscaped gardens and wild woodland, will reopen its doors for hotel, spa and restaurant reservations. The hotel has just 35 rooms spread between three buildings – the Main House, Garden House and Coach House – making it an ideal escape for those longing for a post-lockdown treat, whilst continuing to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Beaverbrook has spent its unexpected closure maintaining its famed landscaped gardens for guests to enjoy in all its summertime glory whilst responsibly innovating operations with enhanced protocols and new experiences to ensure guests feel both safe and spoilt, prioritising privacy and personalisation for a truly pampering stay.
Transparency – new health and safety protocol
Thankfully, with 470 acres of gardens, there is no shortage of options for al fresco dining, exercising, picnicking and play at Beaverbrook plus, with only 35 rooms spaced out across the estate, guest interaction can be easily distanced for a truly private stay. Beaverbrook will offer a strictly reservation-only policy for entering the estate, and limit bookings at their popular restaurants The Japanese Grill and The Garden House Restaurant – as well as The Coach House Spa. Restaurant floor plans have been reorganized to allow for two meters between tables, and all therapists at The Coach House Spa will be provided with full PPE for the safety of both themselves and guests. There will be temperature checks upon arrival for guests and staff, plus a sanitising and disinfecting service for hands and luggage. Personal hand sanitiser bottles will also be able available on guest rooms and from The Coach House shop. Please see more on the Covid-19 protocol here.
Reconnecting with friends and family with your very own ‘house party’ experience
In the spirit of its original owner, Lord Beaverbrook, who had a penchant for weekly house parties and to offer a truly private experience, the hotel has created new exclusive-use ‘house party’ packages. These range from clusters of bedrooms to booking an entire building for guests to continue to isolate during their stay. At The Garden House they will be able to book three rooms at once; ‘Thyme’ which features a vast private terrace and spectacular views of the Surrey hills, ‘Verbena’ which is situated directly below with whimsical interiors and a stylish copper roll top bath, and ‘Woodruff’ which is a cosy space next door with a blossoming, private garden.
Beaverbrook recently introduced six new pet-friendly rooms and suites attached to The Coach House which are specially designed to be interconnected with separate living rooms and picturesque terraces to kick back in seclusion. The three rooms on the top floor sleep up to six adults and three children, and the three ground floor suites accommodate up to six adults and six children. Alternatively, the whole of The ‘Coach House Cottage’ can be booked exclusively for 12 adults and six children, with the added benefit of a private garden to sunbathe or barbecue in solitude, its own carpark and easy access to the neighboring Spa.
Private services – child entertainers, dining and spa
Beaverbrook will also introduce new personalised services for guests who’ve grown to love Beaverbrook’s activities but want peace of mind to enjoy them in private. They will be able to book a dedicated Sharky & George entertainer for kids to enjoy hours of high octane, immersive woodland activities from the gigantic treehouse in the grounds or other secluded areas on the estate. Barbecues with a view, delicious lunch spreads or sunset feasts will be whipped up by a private chef, and picnic hampers perfectly packed for days exploring the endless footpaths on the estate. At the holistic The Coach House Spa, guests can book the entirety of the thermal suites to themselves to rejuvenate before or after a nature-based treatment. In the evenings – once the temperatures cools – they can unwind with a private screening in the plush cinema with original wood panelling featuring a selection of movies carefully curated by Sir Alan Parker, the director of Fame and Bugsy Malone.
Wild Wellness – immune-boosting practices and forest discovery
The Coach House Spa offers a thoroughly holistic approach to wellness, with AMAN’s former regional spa director, Rene van Eyssen, at the helm. With a focus on nature’s healing powers, and combining learnings from Buddhist, shamanic and western practices, Beaverbrook has curated a series of new Wild Wellness experiences to assist with both emotional and physical wellbeing. The bioenergetic woodland walk combines gentle movement, primal breathing and meditation. Learn immunity-boosting practices in the meadow’s Tepee combining Wim Hof method dynamic breathwork, body tapping and vibrational sound therapy with Pranayama for energy, dynamic Asana for strength and Savasana for deep relaxation. Add an educational immunity-nutrition workshop with the hotel’s erudite naturopath to establish improved eating habits or choose the ancient shamanic fire ceremony to release unwanted energies and clear space to set new intentions. Forest discovery can be combined with nature-based treatments at The Coach House Spa and incorporated into packages at The School of Cookery.
Beaverbrook offers rooms from £385 per night.
