BiKBBI confirm new Apprenticeship Partnership

The British Institute of Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom Installation (BiKBBI) is delighted to announce an innovative strategic partnership with the End-Point Assessment (EPA) Organisation, Achieve+Partners.

Achieve+Partners provides EPA for the furniture, wood and trade supplier industries.

In an industry experiencing huge changes and challenges, Achieve+Partners’ ethos is to work purposefully with a wide range of organisations, bringing the industry closer together. It will use its highly skilled employees to share their expertise and knowledge whilst at the same time providing added-value support to all of its apprenticeship partners.Achieve+Partners founder Lisa Williamson, believes that this unique partnership approach will unite the sector, bringing together professional and trade bodies with employers and training providers and enabling apprentices to achieve their full potential.

BiKBBI sees this focus on partnership working as an important way of developing, promoting and delivering the Level 2 Apprenticeship for Fitted Interiors and will work alongside Achieve+Partners to review the current Level 2 apprenticeship standard in Fitted Furniture Installation.

Damian Walters, BiKBBI Chief Executive stated: “We have worked with Lisa previously and are delighted that we’ll be working closely with Achieve+Partners in the delivery, promotion and development of the Fitted Interiors Apprenticeship.”

The new apprenticeship standards have been introduced as part of the Government’s major apprenticeship reforms and focus on a shift from assessing to learning with the aim of putting employers more in control. The standards outline the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to deliver a certain job role and also include an End-Point Assessment – a quality mark that checks that the apprentice has gained what they need through the apprenticeship.

As Lisa Williamson explains: “Achieve+Partners are passionate about supporting professional bodies, training providers and employers through the entire process from implementation of their apprenticeships to delivering the End-point Assessment. We are supporting the BiKBBI with their core education pillar to deliver apprenticeships for both commercial and domestic kitchen, bathroom and bedroom installation.

We want to strengthen the industry and give the delivery partners a voice whilst also providing BiKBBI with information of what’s happening on the ground to ensure that the continual review and improvement of standards meets the real needs of apprentices and delivery partners.”

As part of the strategic partnership between the two organisations, Achieve+Partners is working with BiKBBI to recruit industry experts to conduct end-point assessments. They are looking for people who have 10 days or more per year to carry out assessments, which is a paid for service that also covers assessors expenses.  Assessors do not need any assessment experience as Achieve+Partners will provide training and support.
