MAYFAIR RESTAURANT UNVEILS MIDDLE EASTERN DINING EXTRAVAGANZA

From the 1st of December, Mamounia Lounge, the Middle Eastern restaurant, cocktail bar and subterranean late-night den in the heart of Mayfair on Curzon Street, will be serving its Christmas menu. A selection of Moroccan and Lebanese classics are featured for the ultimate festive Middle Eastern dining extravaganza.
Available for groups of four and over, the Christmas menu has been designed for any festive event, from office parties to dinner with friends and family. Priced at £60 per person, it includes a champagne reception, followed by a three-course meal. Friday and Saturday nights come alive with an Arabic flair – with DJ sets on Fridays, live music on Saturdays and belly dancing performances across both days.
To start, diners can enjoy a sharing selection of classic Moroccan and Lebanese cold and hot mezzes, including:
- Fattouch – a popular Middle Eastern salad with fresh vegetables, toasted Lebanese bread for a crunch and a refreshing lemon and olive oil dressing
- Mamounia Arayes – A vegetarian take; grilled Lebanese bread with halloumi and mint
- Lamb Briouat – Golden brown filo pastry parcels with minced lamb
For the main course, there is a choice from a number of dishes, including:
- Grilled Filet of Sea Bass – Lightly marinated sea bass, served with grilled asparagus & Mamounia special rice
- Chicken Tagine – Half chicken marinated in a zingy saffron sauce served with potatoes, preserved lemon and couscous
- Mixed Grill – A bestselling selection of grilled meats served with harissa yogurt and Lebanese rice
Guests with a sweet tooth can then choose from one of the two platters:
- Selection of Baklawa – Honeyed filo pastry bites filled with walnuts & pistachios
- Pharaoh’s Feast – A platter of seasonal fruit, fit for royalty
New Year’s Eve
Guests can also ring in the New Year in style with a bespoke three course Middle Eastern meal. Mamounia Lounge Mayfair is renowned for its electric atmosphere, as well as authentic delicious food, so is the perfect place to celebrate the end of 2019 and start of 2020.
Meals will be accompanied by live entertainment from 8.30pm. House lovers can dance the night away to a Deep House DJ set on the ground floor lounge area.
Whilst in the subterranean restaurant area, guests can be entertained by a mixture of live Arabic music, contemporary hits from a variety of singers, as well as vibrant performances from three belly dancer.
The authentic experience can be enjoyed over a two-hour sitting, priced at £125 per person from 7.00pm -9.00pm, or £150 per person from 9.00pm onwards. This starts with a selection of classic Arabic cold and hot mezzes, including:
- Royal Gambas – a crown of chermoula shrimp wrapped in kadaif pastry
- Moutabel – Smoked aubergine puree with tahini, garlic & lemon juice topped with pomegranate
For the main course, there is a choice from a number of dishes, including:
- Meshoui – Traditional Moroccan shoulder of lamb, slowly roasted for 8 hours. A homemade bouillon & couscous is served on the side
- Seasonal Vegetable Tagine – A selection of seasonal vegetables in Mamounia’s signature slow cooked tomato sauce
Guests can then choose between one of the two platters for dessert:
