Liverpool’s popular NYL Restaurant & Bar has appointed its trail-blazing sous chef to lead its culinary operations.
Esteemed local chef Robert White (34) from (Liverpool) has assumed the role of executive chef at the city hotspot, which features in the prestigious Michelin Guide.
Since joining the team in 2018, not only has he served up success in the kitchen, but has played a pivotal role in driving local supplier partnerships and bolstering the eatery’s commitment to fresh ingredients, special menus and sustainability.
In recent months, he spearheaded the introduction of a new sustainable cocktail menu, featuring locally sourced, organic, vegan, homemade and repurposed ingredients, and helped secure a partnership with Merseyside coffee firm, Crosby Coffee to deliver speciality blend coffee across the establishment.
His previous tenure includes head chef positions at the city’s 109 Allerton, Bistro Jacques and Moose & Moonshine.
Robert said: “I came to NYL already armed with an understanding of the food and drink scene here in Liverpool and, over the last year, I’ve been working to ensure we remain at the forefront of that scene.
“I’m looking forward to taking a greater role in shaping the direction of the business in the months ahead and further growing our commitment to key areas, including fresh, local and ethically sourced produce.”
NYL Restaurant & Bar is located within Aloft Liverpool hotel in the city’s iconic Grade II-listed Royal Insurance Building, and is operated by RBH, the UK’s leading independent hotel management company.
