FOOD ON THE MOVE: THE FIRST CONFERENCE ON THE DIGITAL DISRUPTION OF FOOD DELIVERY TO TAKE PLACE IN LONDON

In the first industry conference of its kind, Food on the Move – Innovation, Sustainability and Food Safety in the Age of Delivery, will take place at The Barbican Centre, London on Wednesday 27 March 2019.

The age of food delivery is transforming the food service sector as never before. While providing great commercial opportunity, it has also introduced challenges to the way food is produced, packaged and delivered. This one-day conference will provide an opportunity to join a group of leading innovators, food experts, sustainability practitioners and food safety specialists to better understand how digital disruption is shaping the industry and to prepare for and meet the challenges that lie ahead.

Attendees can share best practice, network and learn about the latest successes – from the collaborative tools being used to improve food delivery operations to technologies and services set to advance the sustainability and safety of food delivery.

Food on the Move will bring together over 45 industry experts, including the keynote address from international author Tristram Stuart, panel discussions and presentations that look closer at:

  • Equipment innovation
  • Protecting public health
  • Food safety standards and delivery
  • Traceability
  • Sustainable and transparent packaging
  • UK&EU food safety law

Mark McGlinn, founding partner, Food on the Move Today, says: “Online food delivery platforms are revolutionising the way we purchase and access food and are having a dramatic impact across the full breadth of the food industry.

For food suppliers, food retailers and foodservice operators, this means constantly adapting their operations whilst anticipating further and more radical changes to come. With the market in an ongoing state of disruption, we need to better understand how to meet the challenges ahead. By bringing together the main players and leading innovators from all parts of the supply chain, we want to start the conversation and share best practice.”
