To celebrate International Women’s Month and St Patrick’s Day, Iron Stag Hoxton will be hosting one of the most influential women in whiskey, Louise McGuane the founder of leading Irish whiskey brand JJ Corry.
She will be at Iron Stag for two evening masterclasses – one taking place on March 7th, the eve of International Women’s Day. She’ll be discussing her whiskey releases, The Gael and The Flintlock, and her experiences setting up her own distillery in Ireland. The Iron Stag will be preparing an arrival cocktail using Louise’s whiskey.
Known for its exceptional selection of Scottish whisky, Iron Stag is rolling out its Irish credentials for these two special masterclasses. Not only is Louise a leading name in Irish whiskey but she is one of the few women in the industry and is the perfect guest for International Women’s Month.
With her great love being her home county of Cooraclare in Ireland, she founded JJ Corry on her father’s farm which has now become the Chapel Gate Irish Whisky Distillery.
Guests at Iron Stag on both evenings will be able taste ‘The Gael’, her international award-winning first release, and ‘The Flintlock’ which won Best Irish Single Malt over 13 years old in the Irish Whiskey Awards 2018. The Flintlock is a blend of three partially disgorged ex bourbon 16 year old single malt casks each specially chosen for their individual flavour profiles. It is Chapel Gate’s first small scale true Bonder’s Blend.
Louise’s passion, innovation and story is enticing and through this masterclass, guests will not only learn a great deal about Irish whiskey but can hear about Louise’s fascinating career.
