InterContinental London – The O2, managed and operated by the Arora Group, has announced the appointment of Nelson Bernardes as Bars Manager for its Eighteen Sky Bar and Clipper Bar.
Nelson joins InterContinental London – The O2 with more than 10 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. His previous roles include Bar Operations Manager at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund, Bar Manager at the Waldorf Hilton London and Founder and CEO of the Drinks Diary Bar Trade Magazine in Portugal.
Nelson commented: “I am thrilled to be taking the next step in my career at InterContinental London – The O2. The hotel’s Eighteen Sky Bar and Clipper Bar are stunning and unique destination bars with exceptional views over the River Thames, and I’m looking forward to working with the fantastic teams here to develop some innovative new recipes for 2019.
“We’re currently creating a selection of seasonal cocktails. For spring / summer, we’re looking at light and refreshing herbal concoctions, and for autumn / winter, we’re playing with more rich and complex combinations with the addition of warm, aromatic spices.”

InterContinental London – The O2 has 453 guestrooms, a luxury spa with a 17m swimming pool and eight treatment rooms, as well as a collection of London’s finest destination inspired restaurants and bars, including the 3 AA Rosette Peninsula Restaurant, the lively, interactive Market Brasserie, the unique Clipper Bar with its own exclusive Clipper Gin, the rooftop Eighteen Sky Bar and the Meridian Lounge with a riverside terrace.
The hotel also has a 4,500sqm dedicated conference centre with a 3,100sqm pillar-free ballroom and 1,600sqm of pre-function space overlooking the River Thames.
