There isn’t much need for an excuse to celebrate World Cocktail Day (Saturday 13 May 2017), but if you’re not yet convinced Sopwell House has the answer with its Battenberg cocktail recipe.
The recipe takes inspiration from Sopwell House’s wealth of history as the country residence of Prince Louis of Battenberg, later Lord Mountbatten.
Stefano Litti, Restaurant and Bar Manager at Sopwell House, reveals one of the hotel’s signature cocktails so you can make it and enjoy it at home.
Battenberg cocktail
Ingredients:
- 20ml strawberry puree
- 20ml pineapple juice
- Top with champagne*
*This recipe also works with Prosecco or sparkling wine if you don’t have champagne at home.
Method:
Prepare a champagne flute. Add strawberry puree to the bottom of the glass before topping with pineapple juice. Top up the mixture with champagne and enjoy!
